Giving back

We’re committed to protecting our community and the planet from cancer-causing environmental damage. One percent of our profits fund research that can help protect children from cancer-causing agents.

What environmental elements cause cancer?

All over the US, there are coal ash sites in communities. Coal ash contains metals like mercury, cadmium, and arsenic (linked to cancers and present in cancer clusters across the US and elsewhere). For decades, utility companies have disposed of coal ash by dumping it in unlined ponds and landfills where the toxins leak into groundwater and the air. Several communities across the US are seeing cancer clusters pop up around coal ash, devastating local communities, but agencies and local governments are turning a blind eye.

Please join us in funding more research to help pinpoint if coal ash is indeed the direct cause of cancer clusters and prevent this from happening to others.

Coal Ash

Over 95% of the coal ash ponds in the US are unlined, which contaminates drinking water with toxins above levels deemed safe.

Without proper management, these contaminants can pollute waterways, ground water, drinking water, and new studies point to the air. Have a look at this report here.
